Stainless Steel Casting Temperature

The temperature of stainless steel castings involves several aspects, including high-temperature resistance, pouring temperature, and forging temperature.

Here is specific information:

High-Temperature Resistance

304 Stainless Steel: High-temperature resistance up to 925℃.

310S Stainless Steel: High-temperature resistance up to 1200℃.

SUS321 Stainless Steel: Can be used continuously below 550℃, suitable for temperature ranges of 450℃ to 850℃.

SUS347H Stainless Steel: Heat resistance up to 800℃ and above.

Heat-resistant Stainless Steel (carbon content approximately 0.20% or higher): Heat resistance up to 650℃ and above.

Pouring Temperature

The pouring temperature of cast steel parts is generally 40-80℃ higher than the melting point of the material.

The pouring temperature of cast iron parts is usually controlled at 1250-1400℃, and that of cast steel parts at 1500-1550℃. Forging Temperature

Austenitic Stainless Steel: Initial forging temperature not exceeding 1200℃, final forging temperature 825-850℃.

Ferritic Stainless Steel: Initial forging temperature below 1200℃, final forging temperature 720-800℃.

Martensitic Stainless Steel: Initial forging temperature 1150℃, final forging temperature 925-850℃ (925℃ for high carbon content, 850℃ for low carbon content).

Duplex Stainless Steel: Initial forging temperature 1150℃, final forging temperature ≥950℃.

The above is a detailed explanation of the current mainstream stainless steel casting temperature ranges. The temperature ranges vary significantly depending on the type of stainless steel.
