Hastelloy casting grades are primarily classified according to ASTM standards (such as B581, B582, B622, etc.)
and specific alloy grades (such as G30, X, etc.). Different grades have different casting processes and performance requirements.
Common Casting Grades and Standards
ASTM B581: Applicable to bar casting, covering various Hastelloy alloy grades (such as G30).
ASTM B582: For medium/thin plate casting, suitable for thin plate forming of high-temperature alloys.
ASTM B622: Seamless pipe casting standard, commonly used in piping systems under high temperature and high pressure environments.
Casting Characteristics of Typical Grades
Hastelloy G30:
Chemical Composition: Ni balance, Cr 28.0-31.5%, Fe 13.0-17.0%, Mo 4.0-6.0%, etc.
Process: Utilizes powder metallurgy or directional solidification, resulting in a uniform microstructure and good high-temperature stability. Hastelloy X:
Heat Treatment: Standard solution treatment temperature is 1177℃, rapid cooling required.
Machining: Requires low cutting speeds and sulfur-based cutting fluids; cold working requires significant energy.
Other Relevant Standards
ASTM B619/B626: Standard for welded pipe casting.
ASTM B366/B462: Standard for pipe fittings and forgings.
