Sulfur (S), phosphorus (P) and other elements will reduce the toughness and corrosion resistance of metals, and their content needs to be reduced through slag treatment, refining and other processes.
Excessive sulfur content will also cause sulfur eutectic, leading to brittle fracture; excessive phosphorus content will form phosphorus eutectic, affecting casting performance.
Removal of non-metallic inclusions
Use deoxidation and refining processes (such as argon protection pouring and tundish covering agent) to reduce oxide inclusions such as Al₂O₃.
Aluminum materials need to pass the DIN 50602 method to detect the total amount of non-metallic inclusions (K value) to ensure metallurgical quality.
Coordinated control of temperature and composition
Maintain a reasonable superheat (such as molten steel superheat 20-30℃) to avoid solidification defects.
Accurately control chemical composition (such as carbon, manganese, etc.) to ensure material performance.
